Sometimes God just gives you a break. So many days are hard, and you feel like you aren’t doing enough. Then every once in awhile, you get a gift. You recharge and your eyes are fixed firmly on the prize.
Today was that day for us. It was a gorgeous fall morning and we studied our Bible outside. We lingered over the verses, had great discussion, and just enjoyed being together. My eyes weren’t on the clock.
We had so many fun things this week, none of which were on the “plan,” but all things planned by Him. We fished at a friends house this week- and you will not believe it- but today we studied Matthew 4 where Jesus calls his disciples to be fishers of men. We had such a good discussion and I was grateful for that lesson.
My youngest found several caterpillars in our garden, and he spent most of the day watching them. We talked so much about caterpillars and butterflies, all in a natural setting. Again, nothing planned, but so much learning.
A science book was not opened this week, but we learned more science than usual.
I am a happy homeschool mama today. I am grateful for days like these, and enjoying it, because I know how quickly tomorrow can be one of those “other” days. I will be real and honest here today and tell you we have had too many of those “other” days lately.
So remember the lessons in everyday life. They teach us more than facts in a book. The moments given to us by our Creator are by far the best lessons learned.
