Weeks # 12 & 13- We Have Finished Deuteronomy!

We have finished Deuteronomy! What a blessing. What I learned most from this book was just how much I am like a present day Israelite when it comes to trust. I mean here they were on the edge of the Promised Land and they complained, lacked faith, and even questioned God. And while it is easy for me to look at that and say it is crazy after all they had seen God do, I am quickly faced the with the reality that I often live as a desert wanderer rather than a Promised Land citizen.
I am often too quick to worry, even when I know that God is for me. I am often quick to complain amidst the sea of blessings in my life. I am grateful for the reminders in Deuteronomy of how I should truly be living.
We are not going to read through all of Joshua next because we already did at the beginning of this school year before I knew we were going to read through the entire Bible. So we are spending this week refreshing our memories and going over some highlights from Joshua and will then move into Judges.
Once again, I am amazed at the work God is doing in our family. We have really stuck with our goal of reading through the entire Bible together, and have only missed a day or two here and there because of circumstances. We have read practically every day, and it has definitely been transforming.
